President Donald Trump hailed the Dow Jones breaking 30,000 points for the first time Tuesday, emerging from the West Wing to 'congratulate everybody' on the record.
The index of the biggest companies' value broke through 30,000 just after midday to peak at 30,117. It closed at 30,046.
Shortly after that, Trump spoke for 56 seconds from the White House briefing room podium Tuesday, boasting about the Dow's performance and saying it was linked to promising news about a coronavirus vaccine.
