ANKARA, āMay 24 (Reuters) - Turkish āriot police fired tear gas ā and broke through the gates of the āmain opposition party's āheadquarters to evict its ousted leadership on Sunday, a ā Reuters witness ā said.
An appeals court on Thursday ousted Republican People's Party (CHP) leader āOzgur Ozel, annulling the ā results of āthe CHP congress āwhere he was elected in 2023, citing āirregularities.
The court āreinstated in ā his place former CHP āchairman ā Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who lost to President Tayyip Erdogan āin a ānational election that year.
