SAO PAULO, April 24 (Reuters) - Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva underwent a successful procedure to remove a skin lesion at a Sao Paulo hospital on Friday and is expected to resume normal activities in the coming days, his doctor Roberto Kalil Filho said.
"It is a common lesion. A biopsy was performed. It is localized, does not spread, and is the most common type of lesion in the world," Kalil Filho said.
Lula, 80, is expected to seek re-election in October.
