Brazil’s President Lula has skin lesion removed

SAO ‌PAULO, April 24 (Reuters) - ​Brazilian President Luiz Inacio ⁠Lula da Silva underwent a successful procedure ​to remove a skin ‌lesion at a Sao Paulo hospital on Friday ⁠and is ⁠expected to resume normal activities in the coming days, his ‌doctor Roberto Kalil Filho ⁠said.

"It is ‌a common ​lesion. A biopsy was performed. It is ‌localized, does ​not spread, ⁠and is the ‌most common ⁠type of lesion in the world," Kalil ​Filho said.

Lula, ‌80, is expected to ⁠seek re-election ​in October.
