China vows to expand visa-free entry scheme to boost tourist spending

BEIJING, ‌March 20 (Reuters) - China's ​commerce ministry on ⁠Friday released measures aimed at ​expanding consumption by ‌foreign tourists, pledging to grant visa-free entry ⁠to ⁠more countries and improve visa-free transit policies.

The measures ‌also encourage airlines ⁠to offer ‌more discounts ​on connecting flights with long ‌layovers in ​China ⁠and for local ‌authorities ⁠to host more sports events.
