German foreign ministry strongly discourages travel to Cuba

-

BERLIN, ‌March 18 (Reuters) - Germany's foreign ministry strongly discouraged citizens from going to Cuba due to an acute energy crisis ‌that particularly limits medical care in a travel notification sent on Wednesday.

Flight and hotel options are also limited, said the ‌ministry, and further, last-minute restrictions must ‌be expected at any time.

Cubans faced a 29-hour national ‌blackout this week as U.S. President Donald ‌Trump has escalated his rhetoric against the Communist-run island in addition ‌to cutting off oil sales.
