    South Korea’s Lee to hold summit with Singapore’s Wong on AI, tech cooperation

    SEOUL, March ‌2 (Reuters) - South Korean President ​Lee Jae Myung will meet Singapore Prime ⁠Minister Lawrence Wong on Monday for a summit aimed at expanding cooperation ​in fields such as artificial intelligence ‌and nuclear energy, during a state visit to the city-state.

    Lee and Wong will ⁠hold talks followed by ⁠a joint press statement and a lunch, according to South Korea's presidential Blue House.

    The leaders are expected ‌to announce the start of negotiations ⁠to upgrade their existing ‌free trade agreement, it ​said.

    The countries are also expected to sign five memorandums of understanding (MOUs), ‌covering areas such as ​AI, small modular ⁠reactors (SMRs), and the digital and ‌technology sectors.

    During his ⁠visit, Lee is also expected to attend a conference on AI, meet ​Singaporean President Tharman ‌Shanmugaratnam and attend a state banquet, ⁠according to the ​Blue House.
