Ukraine rolls out army reform, Zelenskiy says

KYIV, ‌May 1 (Reuters) - Ukraine ​is launching an "army reform", ⁠President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Friday, announcing ​plans to increase wages ‌for the military, strengthen the contract system and ⁠consider a ⁠phased discharge of those serving for a long time.

"In June, ‌the reform will begin – ⁠and the ‌first results ​must already be delivered in June, particularly ‌in the ​area of ⁠financial support for ‌soldiers, sergeants, ⁠and commanders of the Defence Forces of ​Ukraine," Zelenskiy ‌said on the Telegram ⁠app.
