US says Bolivia anti-government protests pose grave threat to democracy

LA PAZ, ‌June 23 - Efforts ​to overthrow the government ⁠in Bolivia represent a "grave threat" to constitutional order ​and democratic stability, the ‌U.S. State Department said in a joint statement with ⁠other regional countries ⁠on Tuesday. 

A "violent minority" seeks to disregard the will expressed by majority ‌of Bolivians in recent ⁠elections, the ‌State Department said ​in the statement, which was also issued by ‌the governments ​of Argentina, ⁠Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Costa ‌Rica, Dominican ⁠Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Panama, ​Paraguay and ‌Peru.
